Man drives car into swimming pool after shoe gets stuck - USA TODAY

Here's a case for wearing driving shoes.

A man drove his car into his swimming pool Saturday after his shoe or sandal got tangled in the pedals, Jeffrey Sims of the L.A. County Fire Department told CBS-Los Angeles.

The white sedan ran through the door in the rear of his garage and into the pool behind the Altadena, Calif. house. The man had apparently climbed out of the submerged car and pool by the time the firefighters arrived. He is 85 years old, according to City News Service. The man was uninjured.
