Police are searching for a woman who sped off while a man was hanging onto the hood of her car in Rice Village.
The incident started Sunday around 12:30 a.m. in a bar parking lot near Rice Boulevard and Kirby Drive.
Police say the woman backed into the man's car, causing a minor fender bender.
However, when the man who owns the other car walked up to the woman to try to get her information, she put her car in gear and started to leave the parking lot.
The man then ran over to try to stop her and jumped on the hood of her car.
Instead of stopping, the woman sped up, speeding down Rice to Kirby with the man still hanging on to the hood.
Houston police say they received multiple calls of a man on the hood of a speeding car.
The woman then turned westbound onto the Southwest Freeway feeder road, where she lost control and slammed into a metal guardrail.
The man was thrown from the hood of the car and hit his head.
He was the rushed to Ben Taub Hospital in serious but stable condition.
The driver fled on foot before police arrived.
Police believe alcohol was most likely a factor.
Police say they woman will face aggravated assault with a motor vehicle charges.
