UPDATE @ 9:30 p.m.: Florence, Ky., police are studying surveillance video from the Marathon gas station in Fort Mitchell where a stolen car with a 20-day-old baby inside were found about 15 minutes from where he was taken.
The suspect remains at large, and Florence Lt. Joseph Maier said investigators would possibly be releasing that video on Friday, along with any new information they have about the investigation.
Our news partner, WCPO-TV in Cincinnati, reported that two women at that Marathon station, on U.S. 25, recognized the stolen vehicle described in an AMBER Alert and reported it to police.
Sgt. Greg Rehkamp said the baby, Henry Flores, is "fine" and was checked out by emergency personnel as a precaution. He was returned to his mother and father at the gas station.
UPDATE @ 7:30 p.m.: WCPO-TV, our news partner, is reporting that the baby has been found safe at a Marathon gas station in Fort Mitchell, Ky., about 15 minutes from where a car was stolen with him inside.
Police said the did not find a suspect with the car.
The baby, 20-day-old Henry Flores, has been reunited with his family.
Authorities took his mom to Florence Police Department headquarters. His father works in Ohio and made his way to the station shortly after, police said.
FBI agents were also at the department.
According to the preliminary investigation, Florence police said the car was stolen after the mother walked inside the gas station with her 2-year-old to pay.
Surveillance video shows an unknown person wearing a black coat get into her car seconds later and leave the parking lot headed west on U.S. 42 toward I-75.
UPDATE @ 7:03 p.m.: A multistate AMBER Alert has been issued for Henry Flores.
FIRST REPORT
Our news partner in Cincinnati, WCPO-TV, is reporting that a massive search is underway for a baby that was inside a vehicle stolen this afternoon from a Speedway gas station in Northern Kentucky.
The incident occurred about 4:11 p.m. at the gas station, 7819 U.S. 42 in Florence, according to WCPO.
The baby, Henry Flores, is 20 days old and was in a car seat in the backseat. He is wearing a white onesie and gray pants.
Surveillance video from the store shows the vehicle left the parking lot headed west on 42 toward the interstate.
Florence police said there is no information available about the possible suspect, but the vehicle is a dark blue, 2001 Volkswagen Passat bearing Kentucky license tag 000-PZR.
About 5:20 p.m., seven police cruisers stopped a pickup on I-71. Officers said it was another stolen vehicle and had nothing to do with this case.
The Kentucky State Police were notified for an AMBER Alert, but police said one has not yet been issued.
