CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was involved in a car crash early Tuesday afternoon in uptown Charlotte, N.C.
The crash occurred just a few short blocks from the Panthers' practice facility. Newton's black Dodge pickup truck was overturned, flipping at least three times before landing on its side. Newton was placed onto a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance. According to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department source obtained WBTV-TV, Newton sustained no injuries and was taken to the hospital only as a precaution.

CMFD says one passenger in each vehicle. Witness says other car pulled out in front of Cam. Says Cam's truck car "flipped at least 3 times."

The CMPD confirmed that Newton was the driver of the pickup truck and that he was able to communicate following the collision.
